Back to Our Regularly Scheduled Program!

No rest for the weary...after getting home on Monday, we've quickly jumped back into our regular routine and have had a busy week so far!

Yesterday we celebrated friend Caroline's third birthday at a special birthday party edition of our weekly neighborhood playgroup. It seems like we were just at Caroline's house for her second birthday- time certainly does fly! Ari and Alex made some crafts and ate lots of yummy food while trying to fend off Kira's buddy Macie, who recently learned how to walk and is very interested in any sort of food, including food on Ari and Alex's plates. Kira sat with Macie and her other friends Jessi and Asher while the big kids played with Caroline's fun toys.

At the party, Tommy and Macie's mommy told Mommy about the county fair and all of the attactions that are actually perfect for kids Ari and Alex's age, including tractors, farm animals and, best of all, fire trucks. So Mommy decided to take Ari, Alex and Kira to the fair this morning when it opened. She was expecting to stay for maybe an hour, tops, but we ended up staying for two hours! Alex was so excited to see all of the tractors and most of all to see the fire engines. The fire department had three fire trucks on display plus one ambulance and Alex didn't know where to go first. He was very determined to touch all of the fire trucks and Mommy was afraid that he wouldn't ever want to leave. Finally, after about 30 minutes, he agreed to move on to the next attraction. We saw lots of animals, including horses, cows, donkeys, llamas, pigs, chicken, (very loud) roosters, and bunny rabbits. Kira enjoyed her view from the Baby Bjorn and especially seemed to love all of the animals, as she laughed and smiled when she saw them (especially the bunny rabbits!)

Ari finds a pink tractor!!

Alex touches an antique fire engine...
...and a modern fire engine (with a huge ladder!)
...and yet another fire engine
