Sunday

Sunday morning Mommy and Daddy woke up a little earlier than we had the previous two days so that we could get an early start before having to check out of the resort and head to the ferry back to St. Martin. We savored our last breakfast on the veranda before getting in quick workouts and packing our suitcases. Checking out, we got one last picture in front of the resort (taken by another staff member who didn't seem to know how to work a camera) and a few pictures to remind us of the views at Cap Juluca.

We caught an 11:15 ferry to St. Martin and arrived at the airport in plenty of time for our 2:50 flight. The rest of the evening can be summed up in this brief piece written by Mommy late Sunday night:

Mommy and Daddy

Should be in Miami with Cousins enjoying a delicious meal

And the last night of our vacation.

Instead we are in what Daddy calls a “fleabag hotel”

That seemed really fancy at first

If you just looked at the website and the lobby.

But this is where the airline sends it’s “cancelled airline passengers”

With vouchers for a cab ride and $20 for dinner

Which can go really far at Quiznos

Large subs, cookies, chips, sodas and Gatorade

Stuck in St. Martin

Sounds like a dream come true

But not if all you want is to be home with your babies

After spending over seven hours in the airport,

Over two of them sitting on the tarmac

Over two of them waiting for luggage

Another hour waiting to be rebooked for a flight

We can only hope really makes it off the ground tomorrow morning.

Now we try to get a few hours of sleep

And not get bitten by bedbugs or something else lurking in the “fleabag hotel.”
