Make New Friends, But Keep The Old

Today was a very special day for Mommy, as she hosted a mini-reunion of sorts for high school classmates who were in town for the holidays or who still live nearby. This included some of Mommy's closest high school friends and also some friends she didn't know that well in high school but who she was so happy to reconnect with and discover new connections.

The reunion started in the afternoon when several families came over for a play date with their kids, ranging in age from just 4 months through almost 5 years. Ari and Alex were a little unsure of how to take the invasion of new friends romping through their play room, but they were good sports and Kira enjoyed trying to tackle the youngest baby.
After the play date and dinner, Nana and Poppy came over to put the kids to bed while Mommy and Daddy went to the "adult" portion of the reunion, drinks at a local restaurant/bar where Mommy got to catch up with more of her high school friends. It made Mommy very nostalgic for her high school days and left her shaking her head at how it can really be almost 17 years since she and her friends graduated high school.
