Go Panthers!

This morning Alex and Ari attended the first game of Daddy's soccer coaching season and enjoyed a beautiful morning watching the girls on the team win their opening game. Daddy has been coaching his team for seven years now, so we are close to many of the girls and parents on the team and have watched them grow up from kids to driving teenagers starting to look at colleges! It's been fun to share Alex and Ari's first year and a half with Daddy's "team family." Here are Alex and Ari preparing for the next several years of their lives (because who will Daddy coach once his team goes off to college?!) Notice Ari has become proficient in walking this week, making exceptional strides-- she now prefers walking over crawling, which is a huge accomplishment:

Yesterday we had some special visitors: 6-month old twin friends Sebastian and Alexandra. It was neat to have babies back in the house, and especially reassuring to see how well-behaved and gentle Alex and Ari were around the babies. Mommy even got to practice holding one of the babies while feeding Alex and Ari their dinners- it's much easier than she expected, although that's probably in no small part due to the fact that Sebastian and Alexandra are VERY happy, easy babies.

The rest of the weekend has been spent having fun and enjoying family time. Alex and Ari have been very playful and loving with each other lately. Ari has taken to tackling and tickling Alex (we won't mention her tendency to beat up her brother...), and they both enjoy putting plastic sand pails on their heads and engaging in some sort of blind sumo-wrestling game (they came up with this "game" by themselves out of the blue one day this week!):

It's been very heartwarming- and entertaining- to watch Alex and Ari become best buddies. It's times like these that we are especially thankful to have twins!
