Bring Daddy to School Day

Today Alex and Ari brought Daddy to school with them (Miri went along again too!) It's been fun having Daddy home this week, as he's had a chance to see Alex and Ari's typical schedule. Here are some pictures Daddy took during class today:

Today is also a big day because it is Kira's one week birthday! Miri says Kira looks different already, although it's hard for Mommy and Daddy to tell because we see her every day.
Kira is doing very well, and is sleeping as well as could be expected at night, waking every three hours (almost on the dot) for a feeding before going right back to sleep for the most part. During the day she's on pretty much the same schedule, although Mommy tries to keep her up a little more and feed her more often in the hopes that she'll sleep a little longer at night (keeping her awake at this point is a challenge- like any typical newborn, she sleeps a LOT right now!) But for a one-week old baby, she's certainly very easy going and good natured. Last night, right before her second sponge bath, her belly button "stump" fell off (the remainder of the umbilical cord, not the belly button itself!) so now she's all ready for her first official "real" bath, which we'll attempt one of these nights. Kira doesn't much like baths (at least of the sponge variety) or diaper changes from what we can tell so far. Otherwise, though, she's pretty easy to please.

So for now we're adjusting to life as a family of five, and Mommy is fully enjoying having Daddy's extra set of hands around for a few weeks, especially as she recovers from the c-section. Next week she plans to practice getting out and about with all three, with Daddy as back-up just in case!

So what does Daddy think of the typical schedule of the twins? Does he wonder how you do it all? HaHa. Alex and Ari look like such big kids at school doing their arts and crafts. Is your refrigerator covered yet?

Kira is so precious and looks so cuddly!

Take care. Hope you are feeling well and getting some rest.
