Tuesday morning Mommy needed to go to the grocery store...although she was a bit skeptical about doing the task with three kids on her own, she decided to plunge right in and give it a try. One lesson she learned from having twins was that the only way to gain confidence to get out on her own with two is "just do it." It's often much easier than it seems initially.
So off we went into the grocery store, Alex and Ari in their double stroller and Kira in the Baby Bjorn. Lo and behold, Alex and Ari were perfect angels and Kira was very content in the Bjorn. We may have had a lot of funny looks, but everyone was very friendly and helpful and we made it to and from the car in 15 minutes flat without any complications. And we even made it home with the necessary groceries.
After the successful trip to the grocery store, we joined twin friends Ryan and Jessica and their mommy, along with two of Ryan and Jessica's other friends, at the local library's Discovery Room. The Discovery Room is a GREAT find for the winter months- any resident can book the room for an hour time slot and has exclusive use of the room. The room has tons and tons of toys, books, music CDs and even a puppet show stage. Up to eight children are allowed in the room, so you can invite friends to join in for a play date. Plus, it's very clean and easy to access from the parking lot, especially when you're toting a carseat carrier and two kids. Lucky for Mommy, Alex in particular was extremely cooperative and walked into the library and the Discovery Room on his own as Mommy held Ari and Kira in her carrier. Here are the kids having fun with their friends in the Discovery Room:
Ari and Jessica put on a puppet show....

...while Alex and Ryan check out the school bus...

...and Kira, predictably, sleeps in her carrier

Later in the afternoon, we took advantage of some warmer weather to get out to the tot lot. Again, Kira came along in the Baby Bjorn and slept contentedly as the big kids played on the playground. All in all, it was a great day for the four of us.
Today we continued our flurry of activity with some more errands in the morning (back to the grocery store and to the bank) followed by a trip to the nearby lake where the kids can feed the ducks. We're appreciating the somewhat warmer weather while it lasts, as it looks like winter will rear it's head again this weekend.
As Thanksgiving approaches, we're all feeling especially thankful to have been blessed with a new addition to our family and to be a family of five!

You do so many fun activities with the kids! I need to get some ideas from you. And I can't believe that throwing a third baby into the mix hasn't slowed you down a bit. Full speed ahead!!
