It's been a low-key week and weekend as Mommy recovers from her c-section and we all adjust to a new baby, a little less sleep and a new routine. With the much colder weather and the days much shorter, we're limited in what we can do but we're managing and appreciating the quality family time that comes so seldom once life gets back into full swing.
Kira continues to do well, even giving Mommy a 3.5-hour stretch between feeds last night. This may not sound like a lot to someone used to getting 8 hours of sleep at night, but it's eternity to the parent of a newborn. She's also somewhat more alert during the day, taking in her surroundings and sizing up her parents and siblings. Here is Kira at 9 days old:

And at 10 days:

We've been keeping Alex and Ari busy during the day as much as possible by playing in the house and going out on occasion to run some errands. Alex has been having a tough week as the rest of all of his teeth attempt to come in at once, so he's been rather cranky. He especially didn't take too kindly to getting his hair cut on Friday, so Daddy ended up holding him on his lap for the entire haircut, during which Alex cried "no more," and "bye-bye." Luckily, he was all smiles again later in the day when a little pain medication kicked in (and with a little hug from his sister). Check out his new 'do:

We've also had a lot of visitors, including Miri and Opa, Nana and Poppy, Aunt Lori and several neighbors. Here is Ari sporting Miri's pretty scarf during one visit:
And here are some other cute pictures of us hanging around the house:

This afternoon we took an outing to "the club" with Miri and Opa for a late lunch after Alex and Ari's nap. Lunch at the club was actually one of our first outings with Alex and Ari way back when they were just a few weeks old, too. So it was only fitting to take another family picture after lunch with the newest addition to our family:
We're hoping next week to start getting back into our normal routine, with Mommy using Daddy's extra hands to help her get used to getting three kids out and about to the twins' normal weekday activities (My Gym, story times, play group, school, etc.). It should be quite the adventure...stay tuned!

What great pictures. You look so skinny already :) Glad to hear things are going well.
Glad you are all enjoying some low key family time and that you even got 3.5 hours of sleep in between feedings. I be that felt wonderful! Love all of the pictures you shared. My favorite is the one of Ari smiling next to Kira in the swing. What a proud big sis!
Good luck this week with getting back into the swing of things. You will be a pro in no time!
Take care!
